Education

Graduated from Thomas Aquinas College with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. This college only used the Socratic Method of teaching, meaning all the classes were conducted as a discussion. Critical thinking and reasoning were vital tools in this environment. The goal of the school was to teach you how to reason through anything, no matter what it was. Studied biology at University of Delaware and worked in Cell Biology Research in a university lab. I went back to school because I had always had an interest in biology and ultimately wanted my career to be in biology. University of Delaware allowed me to gain the experience necessary to pursue the path i wanted to take.

Experience

My experience includes tutoring Latin and Math privately at Thomas Aquinas College for three years, both in person and over the phone. I've also done a little tutoring privately in Delaware after graduating, and more recently in Jersey City. As for science, I was part of a research team at University of Delaware in the Biology Department, a fair amount of what I do is explaining what I learned from my own research to my colleagues. I am currently working for a genetic screening and diagnosis company in Jersey City, which requires constant learning to keep up with the research.

I've always had an interest in science, most of my interest is in Biology but I also enjoy Chemistry, Physics, and Astronomy. In my free time I do a lot of biking, canoeing, and hiking. Really I just like exploring new places and discovering new things. I have recently gotten into beer brewing, which relies heavily on my knowledge of biochemistry, believe it or not. I also enjoy painting, even though I'm really no good.
